A Writer’s Playground

Welcome to my creative writing playground, a mental and physical space where creativity flows freely, building with the raw materials of imagination, reflection and curiosity.

Writing isn’t about getting it right the first time – it’s about rewriting until it feels right.

My journey in writing started with… reading!

First, by diving into descriptive stories and words of linguistic elegance, followed by inspiring quotes I would mark down in a personal diary.

Then, by learning to speak and write diversely resonant languages – Romanian, English, French, even some German, Italian and Spanish.

Exchanging letters by post with pan pals across borders and submitting high school essays to national competitions followed so naturally.

In my 20s, my writing practice easily moved to submitting papers on the topic of communication.

The behavioural modelling project for my professional coaching training came in my early 30s. Also, my interest in Japanese calligraphy – shodō.

Most recently, I joined the 40s with several playwright analyses and a thesis on Chekhov for my second university studies in theatre and acting.

Copywriting, content creation, press releases, people strategies, personal development plans and even complex client emails during my time in creative industries proved to be huge opportunities to practice a variety of writing structures.

As time passed by and I got deeper into self-work, I felt the need to express on paper. Through writing I stopped to reflect, break unhealthy habits, manage the unknown, connect more, design projects… and even take off to set my own practice in nonformal education and learning facilitation. Since 2015, writing has been my ally to breathe, understand, play and create. Rediscover the world, redefine myself and recharge to contribute further.

Personal journaling, flow narrative or poetry composition are some of my favourite types of free writing. They foster beginner’s mindset, unlocking new ideas and possibilities.

Free writing helps me tackle the unknown and push through the limitations of the blank piece of paper. By playful writing, I cultivate a can-do attitude, easily overcoming any block.

Indeed, writing takes courage and self-discipline to keep course, resilience to edit, patience to revise, acceptance of mistakes and awareness to keep improving. Yet, writing is more than an end result. It’s a process of self-discovery, experimentation and reinvention. Ultimately, a tool for understanding and simplification.

Here, all works are FREE to read and download, either to share with friends or for personal use.

They are the fruit of many creative writing endeavours – from daily journaling, to surrendering a moment’s inspiration while walking, or attending regular free writing sessions, so generously run by my dear friend and mentor, Tim Hurson.
